(April 13, 2023 – Henderson, NV) — Christopher (Chris) Loftus has been named the CEO of West Henderson Hospital, a 150-bed facility currently under construction at the southwest corner of Raiders Way and St. Rose Parkway in Henderson, NV.

As the CEO, Loftus is currently responsible for the continued oversight of construction, along with strategic planning, business development, financial management and physician relations.

As a Henderson resident, Loftus is already very familiar with Nevada’s second largest city.

“This area is growing at an impressive pace,” said Loftus, who presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for West Henderson Hospital one year ago. “We’ve seen continued growth in residential, retail, business and industry sectors surrounding the hospital, and are looking forward to supporting the community. “We are beyond excited to open this cutting-edge healthcare facility.  Our team at West Henderson Hospital will be comprised of physicians, staff, and healthcare leaders that are true champions of the highest quality patient care.  Our goal will always be to create a safe and reliable organization that our community members can be proud of!”

Prior to being named CEO, Loftus served as the CEO for Desert Springs Hospital, which is open 24/7 for emergency care and has ceased inpatient operations. Key accomplishments during his tenure include earning back-to-back “A” grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group; receiving three gold honors for Best Hospital in the Best of Las Vegas annual contest; continued accreditation of the bariatric surgery program; the design, development and construction of West Henderson Hospital; and his leadership and guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Loftus has extensive experience within The Valley Health System, previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at both Summerlin and Henderson hospitals. As COO, he was responsible for day-to-day hospital operations and strategy implementation.

He earned his master’s degree in health service administration from the University of Evansville in Indiana while serving as assistant men’s soccer coach for the University  and earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and pre-med from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, while serving as the captain of the men’s soccer team in his Junior and Senior seasons.

Loftus currently serves as Chair of the American Heart Association Las Vegas chapter.

West Henderson Hospital is currently on track to open in late 2024, offering emergency care, surgical suites, including heart and hybrid suites for advanced cardiovascular services, endoscopy services, cardiac catheterization labs, an electrophysiology lab to treat heart rhythm disorders, an interventional radiology/special procedures lab to treat neurological diagnoses and inpatient nursing care units.
